Diane Boucher has been working in the field of culture and the arts for over twenty years, as an event programmer, organizer, and manager. From 1982 to 1989, she designed, organized, and produced the multi-disciplinary program of films, music, lectures, dance and theatre at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts. She promoted and advertised these events, building partnerships with various cultural contributors such as museums, galleries, universities and consulates. She presented numerous new dance performances by Canadian and international artists, including Tanaka Min ( Japan ), Simone Forti, Deborah Hay, Charles Moulton Dance (U.S.A.) and O Vertigo ( Canada ).
Co-founder of the Festival international de nouvelle danse ( find ) in 1983, Diane Boucher was its vice-president and a member of its programming committee until 2002. She also took on the position of associate director of find from 1989 to 2002. As such, she was supervising and coordinating the organization, overseeing the administration, production and communication. Since 2003, she has been a consultant for several cultural organizations including Fortier Danse-Création and numerous other dance companies, presenters, and international festivals. Diane Boucher conducted a study on the creative arts in the university milieu for the Faculty of Arts of Université du Québec à Montréal. In April 2005, she was responsible for organizing a welcome event for foreign presenters and producers which highlighted the work of Canadian choreographers. Diane Boucher is director of O Vertigo and O Vertigo Creation Center since August 2005.
Diane Boucher has been particularly involved in promoting and presenting new dance works. Through her activities, she has brought about collaborations with many local, national, and international institutions, and has cultivated partnership relations with different organizations all over the world. She has significantly contributed to building the reputation of Canadian and Québécois dance outside of Canada by making our choreographers' works known and by facilitating the production and promotion of their works in the framework of national and international projects. She has traveled extensively in Europe , Asia , North America and Africa , to discover young choreographers and know more about their culture.
Diane Boucher has served on numerous advisory committees for the arts, and has been a jury member for several cultural and governmental institutions. These include : the Jean-Pierre Perreault Foundation, Le Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, Le Ministère de la culture et des communications du Québec, Le Fonds de stabilisation et consolidation des arts et de la culture du Québec, the Governor General's Performing Arts Awards, Les Rencontres Chorégraphiques de l'Afrique et de l'Océan Indien , Antananarivo, Madagascar, and in 2005 and 2006 of the Toyota Choreography Award, Tokyo.
