ARTIST'S RESIDENCY POLICY
Since its founding in 1984, O Vertigo has dedicated itself to research and creation in dance, with equal emphasis on training and the development of the discipline in all its forms. Since the recent opening of the Creation Center at Place des Arts, the company has reaffirmed its mission, and, in the spirit of sharing resources, it is offering other artists in the dance milieu access to these new facilities, which provide optimum conditions for practicing the discipline.
Selection :
Candidates who wish to apply for a residency must send a motivation letter, along with a description of the project, a short biography, video excerpts of the project or previous works (VHS, DVD or Web link) and the best period for the residency to the address below:

Selection criteria :
The artistic quality of the project
The pertinence of need
All applications will be examined by the selection committee.
Length of the residencies :
Each residency will last a maximum of two weeks. The length may vary slightly according to the Creation Center 's schedule of activities.
Available resources :
Artists whose projects have been selected will have access to O Vertigo's rehearsal studio (3,874 sq.ft.) and basic technical equipment (sound and lighting). Certain conditions concerning the use of space and equipment will be outlined in a written agreement between the artist and O Vertigo.
Registration dates :
O Vertigo will hold two residency competitions per year.
For the 2009-2010 year, application deadlines are :
November 1, 2009 : due to some circumstances out of our control, we will not be able to open the Residency contest for November 1st, 2009.
May 1, 2010 : for projects to be carried out between July 1 and December 31, 2010.
Candidates will receive the answer by May 31.
